You will be asked to choose an employer. The choices currently are TalentBurst and TrueBlue. You can learn more about those choices by visiting their websites.

After you complete a shift, Uber Works will send your recorded shift hours to your chosen employer. Your chosen employer will then calculate your take-home pay based on information in your employment paperwork, including withholdings, and other required deductions and applicable taxes. Unless the business raises a dispute about the hours you worked, you’ll be paid by your employer within a few days of your completed shift. You can choose from 2 payment methods during onboarding: direct deposit or pay card.

Direct deposit: When setting up your account with your employer, you’ll be prompted to provide your bank name, routing number, and account number. Assuming no dispute to your hours or other issues, your payments will be deposited directly into your bank account within 2 business days of your shift completion. Depending on your bank’s processing times, you may have to wait another 24 to 36 hours to access your money.

Pay card: You should be given a pay card if you complete your onboarding in person at our Uber Works office. If you didn’t receive one or if you didn’t onboard in person, you can pick one up at the Uber Works office. You can also contact to have a card mailed to you. The card will be activated once funds are successfully deposited into your account. Your shift payments will be deposited to the pay card within 2 business days of your shift completion, assuming no disputes to your hours or other issues.

If you’re having payment issues or would like to update your payout information, please contact Support by text at 312-548-9264 or by email at

These are the top 4 tips from some of our most successful workers:

  • Get more shifts by making a great first impression. Businesses frequently request the same workers who have shown great performance.
  • Show up with a proper, clean uniform. Many shifts involve customer-facing activities, and businesses typically require specific uniforms. You can review any uniform requirements alongside other shift details in the Uber Works app.
  • Make sure to take care of yourself on longer shifts. Businesses are required to offer you an unpaid break when working long shifts of more than 7.5 hours (depending on the city and state). If you take a meal break of 20 minutes or more during your shift, please be sure to appropriately log your break time in the app.
  • Bring a pen and a piece of paper just in case you want to take notes or write something down.

You may have been deactivated because you didn’t follow Uber Works’ attendance policy or other sections of the User Guidelines.

Under the attendance policy, workers who accrue 6 marks within a rolling 30-day period will lose access to the Uber Works platform for 7 days. Workers who accrue 10 marks within a rolling 30-day period will permanently lose access to the Uber Works platform. Please note that 2 no-call, no-shows (not showing up for a shift at all and not informing Uber Works) within a rolling 12-month period will also result in permanent loss of access to the Uber Works platform.

Attendance marks are given as follows:

  • 2 marks for every 15 minutes late, up to 5 marks
  • 2 marks for canceling 2 to 24 hours before a shift start
  • 3 marks for canceling 30 minutes to 2 hours before a shift start
  • 4 marks for being sent home early due to behavior or uniform issues
  • 6 marks for canceling less than 30 minutes before a shift start or for a no-call, no-show

When you accumulate the amount of points or actions that result in a deactivation, we’ll send you an email with a record of your attendance marks and the status of your account.

You may also be deactivated for violating the law; consuming drugs or alcohol or carrying firearms during your shift or while on the app; violating the Uber Works standards on physical contact, sexual assault and misconduct, threatening and rude behavior, discrimination, and reliability; fraud; or account sharing.

Attendance marks are accrued for any cancellations within 24 hours of the shift start time, and the marks increase the closer to the shift time a worker cancels their shift. You can view the attendance and cancellation policy in the Uber Works User Guidelines under “Reliability.”

Please cancel all shifts within the app itself to properly reflect the time and date of the cancellation. Click on the shift you would like to cancel, scroll to the very bottom until you see a red button marked “cancel shift” and press it. See the Uber Works User Guidelines for details about the attendance and cancellation policy.

Dress code requirements will be shift specific and can be found within the app in the shift notes. Please make sure to read them carefully for each individual shift.
